Technical glossary

What each spec actually means

The small technical differences that matter in practice. Translated into useful language.

WASHING 40°C VS 60°C

Washing temperature

40°C

Enough for daily maintenance in offices, retail and standard hospitality. Cleans most stains without harming the fibre. A3, A5 and A6 use this.

60°C

Tougher wash for demanding environments (motorsport, intensive hospitality, workshops). Allows disinfection and keeps colours brighter long-term. Only the A8.

FIBRE WEIGHT

Fibre weight (g/m²)

Amount of polyamide fibre per square metre. More weight = more density and absorption. The A5 (879 g/m²) is the densest, designed to retain a lot of dirt and moisture. A3, A6 and A8 (753 g/m²) prioritise balance between absorption and weight.

THICKNESS

Total thickness (mm)

Total mat height from the rubber base to the tip of the fibre. Affects underfoot comfort, integration with door frames, and durability — more thickness, longer life. Ranges from 4.5 mm (A3) to 6 mm (A5) depending on model.

EDGES

Perimeter edges (1.5 vs 3.2 mm)

The rubber edge protects the fibre from wear and prevents trips. 1.5 mm edges (A3) are visually subtler but more delicate. 3.2 mm edges (A5/A6/A8) handle heavy traffic far better and extend the mat's useful life.

FIBRE

100% type 6 polyamide

The most common nylon in professional mats. Receives Chromojet printing better (colours are more intense and last longer), resists wear and is washable with water and neutral soap. At 40 or 60°C.

BASE

NBR (nitrile) rubber

The mat's lower base. NBR is a top-grade rubber: non-slip, resistant to oil, hydrocarbons and abrasion. That's why it's also used in workshops, professional kitchens and motorsport environments.

SAFETY

Cfl-s1 fire rating

European EN 13501-1 classification. Cfl = textile flooring with low fire contribution. s1 = near-zero smoke emission. Suitable for demanding public spaces: hotels, offices, airports, retail.

CHROMOJET

Printing technology

Dye-injection printing system that places ink inside the fibre, not on top. The colour becomes part of the material: it doesn't fade with washing, doesn't peel, and allows photographic resolution with any Pantone colour.
